Radio Oxygène was created at the suggestion of Jean-Marie Josué, an agronomist who worked for our Plaisance Verte program. To reach the population at large with his messages, the Foundation would hold meetings in different parts of the community. A feat we had to repeat every week in a new locality. Mr Josué, who had worked at a radio before, suggested a radio to cut on the repetitive aspect of the task while reaching even more people.
Radio Oxygène was launched on the Foundation’s 4th year anniversary and has since become an insttituion in our community. It is managed by a Board of Directors elected by their peers, all volunteers, aged 14 to 56. Beyond the Foundations’s PSAs. the radio offers social, recreational, informational and educational programs.
